An Awkward Feminist

Feminist: a person who believes in the social, political, and economic equality of the sexes.

Holding on tight to these last days of warm weather. 🍁🌞 (at The Castle)

Watched The Black Power Mixtape 1967-1975 last night. One of the best documentaries I have seen in a long time. It outlines the years between 1967-1975 in the Black Panther Party through the research and interviews with Swedish filmmakers. Not only does it take a step back from a non American and non government related viewpoint but it shows how in America we were misled about the Party and convinced they were terrorists and not a strong group of people fighting for their rights. Would highly recommend to those who have an open mind and are never willing to just accept the facts the media throws at us.

A remarkable tribute to a remarkable man.

Robin Williams (and Robert Deniro) in Awakenings. One of my favorite movies, even as a kid the humanity displayed by those two amazing actors made it unforgettable to me.
Man, RIP Robin Williams, a man who kept me laughing throughout my childhood.

I heart Sam Smith and his cover of Whitney Houston’s “How Will I Know” is absolutely beautiful.
